About us
Welcome! We are glad you are here. United Methodists share a common heritage with all Christians. We share the following basic affirmations in common with all Christian communities: the divinity of Christ, the reality of God, the power of the Spirit and the authority of Scripture. Some Christian belief systems focus on accepting a particular authority, or on simply accepting Jesus as your personal Savior. The UMC, United Methodist Church, has long taught that a conversion to Christ must bear good fruit (see for example, James 3:14-20). We must be charitable, compassionate, and meeting the physical needs of our brothers and sisters (Matthew 25:31-46). We accept the authority of Scripture in the context of tradition, experience, and reason. We rely on these to help us interpret the Bible correctly and in good faith for our own time and place.
We offer two different worship services, traditional and contemporary as well as our online service.
At Good Shepherd, our Worship is truly a place of Open Hearts, Open Minds, and Open Doors. It is a place where you can come as you are and become all you were meant to be. Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month. Children of all ages are welcome but nursery care is available. Additionally, the Bell Choir, Youth Choir, and Children’s Choir perform each month.
